Getting started

1. Add Leoward to your group

  1. Open the bot's profile in Telegram and press Add to group, or use the "➕ Add me to a group" button shown when you send /start in private.
  2. Pick the group.

2. Make it an admin

Without admin rights the bot can only talk. Open the group info → Administrators → Add administrator → pick Leoward and grant every right. At minimum it needs:

Right Used for
Delete messages purges, locks, blocklists, command cleaning
Ban users ban/mute/kick, warnings, antiflood, CAPTCHA
Pin messages /pin, /permapin
Invite users approving join requests after a CAPTCHA
Add admins /promote and /demote
Manage topics topic commands in forum groups

3. A good first setup

/setlang en
/setrules Be kind. No spam. Read the notes with #help.
/setwelcome Hi {first}! Welcome to {chatname}. {rules}
/captcha on
/lock invitelink url
/setflood 8
/setwarnmode tmute 1d

Then create a channel, add Leoward as admin, send /setlog in the channel and forward that message to the group: you now have a log channel recording everything admins and automations do.

4. Ask the bot itself

/help in private shows a per-module menu with every command. Each module page of this site is generated from that help, so they always match.

Command conventions

  • On/off: on, off, yes, no, true, false are interchangeable.
  • Times: 30s, 10m, 2h, 3d, 1w, and combinations like 1h30m.
  • Users: reply to one of their messages, or type their @username or numeric ID. The remaining text is the reason.
  • Prefixes: /command and !command both work. With several bots in a group use /command@bot_name.
  • Connections: send /connect in the group and press the button to configure the group from your private chat without cluttering the conversation.
