Welcomes¶
Info
This page is generated from the bot's built-in help (/help).
Greet new members with your own message, a photo, buttons or a link to the rules — and keep the chat clean of old welcomes and "X joined" notices.
Commands (admins with change info rights):
- /welcome [on|off]: show the current settings and a preview of the welcome; on/off toggles it.
- /welcome noformat: show the raw markdown so you can copy and edit it.
- /setwelcome <text>: set the welcome. Reply to a photo, GIF, sticker or video to use it as the welcome.
- /resetwelcome: back to the default text.
- /welcomefooter <on/off>: show or hide the small "Protected by Leoward" line under the default welcome (custom welcomes never have it).
- /goodbye [on|off|noformat], /setgoodbye, /resetgoodbye: the same for the goodbye message (off by default).
- /cleanwelcome [on|off|<time>]: delete the previous welcome when someone new joins, and every welcome after a delay (default 5m). /cleanwelcome 2m turns it on with a 2 minute delay.
- /cleanservice [on|off|<types>]: delete Telegram's service messages. Types: join, leave, photo, pin, title, videochat, other, or all.
- /nocleanservice <types>: stop deleting those types.
- /cleanservicetypes: list the types with a description.
Fillings you can use in the text:
{first} first name · {last} last name · {fullname} · {username} · {mention} clickable name · {id} · {chatname} · {rules} adds a button that opens the rules in private.
Formatting: **bold**, _italic_, <u>underline</u>, ~~strike~~, <span class="spoiler">spoiler</span>, code , [text](url).
Buttons: [Website](buttonurl://example.com); add :same to put a button on the same row. [Rules](buttonurl://#rules) links a note.
Random welcomes: separate variants with a line containing only %%%.
Flags: {nonotif} send silently · {preview} show link previews · {protect} forbid forwarding.
Examples¶
/setwelcome Hi, welcome to! Read the rules first`/setwelcome Welcome {first}! Our site Support`
In forum groups the welcome goes to the topic chosen with /setactiontopic. If the CAPTCHA module is on, its button is added under the welcome.
Joins and leaves are written to the log channel (category user) while the group has fewer than 50 members.
